And at our weddings we all want beautiful things but not at the sake of our environment. Here at cherrygorgeous we take our environmental responsibilities very seriously, so you can rest assured that not only does your wedding stationery look fabulous but it’s as environmentally friendly as possible.
Our Environmental Policy means that:
We work with CO2balance and are a carbon neutral company. This covers everything we do: from the energy it takes to
run our design studio to offsetting the petrol used when delivering your wedding invites. In fact we were one of the first wedding companies to be carbon neutral – so we’re not about jumping on the bandwagon – it’s a commitment we truly believe in. You can even go and walk through the wood we are supporting in Sand Martin Wood, Faugh, Carlilse, Cumbria.
All the card* we use are 80% post consumer waste, 10% Totally chlorine free virgin fibre and 10% Elemental Chlorine Free Fibre. It has been awarded the NAPM recycling mark, one of the most prestigious and internationally recognised recycling certificates available. It also has the FSC certification, which shows that the forests are managed in an environmentally appropriate way – better than sustainable which only replants trees for each one removed.
Why isn’t it 100% recycled? We would love it to be but unfortunately 100% recycled card isn’t recyclable and that makes it unsustainable. We want your stationery to have a long life cycle going on to be newspapers, magazines and maybe even more stationery in the future.
*Unfortunately our seating plans aren’t on recycled paper yet but we are working on it and won’t rest until we find a large format recycled paper supplier that meets our environmental criteria. More info can be found at www.fsc.org
Our print machines are state of the art and don't use the harmful silicon oil finishes that is more prevelant in the industry. Infact they are seen as the cleanest, safest printers on the market today. And they use organic toner.
We use the most modern digital printing technology. This is the cleanest way to print without the use of harsh chemicals and wasteful print plates, yet it still delivers top quality wedding stationery. Its also printed here in the UK so you know it has not been air freighted across the world before it gets to you.
The size of our invites are designed to keep the paper wastage to a minimum.
No animals, old-aged-pensioners or children are harmed in the making of our stationery.
Eco-friendly Working Practices
Set Print Dates:
We try to stick to one set print day a week. By doing this, we can save energy and avoid paper wastage. It also means that we don’t have to drive back and forward to visit our printer every day – which allows us to leave the car at home and cycle to work most days (unless it’s raining really hard, then we get the bus). But it still gives you an efficient service that you require.
In a rush?
We have been doing wedding stationery for quite a while now and realise that it is something that sometimes get left to the last minute. Just email us with your time scales before you order and we will do our best to accommodate you. We also have an express service for only £40, which means your order will be priority and all emails and amends will be completed within 24 hours.
Being good around the office
All the packaging we use is recycled: the cardboard boxes and tissue paper that we wrap your order in. Our packing tape is 30% recycled and biodegradable and so is our bubble wrap. We write our notes on the back of old envelopes, recycle as much of our office waste as we can and we make sure we always print on both sides of any paper we use.
